This exhibition presents contemporary abstract sculpture and drawings with an emphasis on the material used.  Both artists create works with linear movement and fluid relationships between energy, form and material.

Roger Asay presents two phases of his early sculpture. The first focuses on naturally shaped aspen or pine poles gracefully interconnected with willow branches. The work creates a linear dance through space, not unlike the feel of a walk in the woods.  The second group of sculptures consist of organic hollow forms made from stitched and inflated rawhide.   Willow sticks suspend these bulbous shapes and interact with them as they move upward through space.

Rebecca Davis’s mostly large-scale ink drawings use a minimal format to allow the gesture of the line to come into view. With no single focal point in the drawings, the eye glides over the surface absorbing its detail, interactions and energy.
